eCargo will be used as the enterprise-wide transportation management and B2B interfacing platform to CHH service provider, Matrix Logistics.

The adoption of eCargo's Transport management System (TMS) as the primary portal for the transference of all freight data to Matrix was driven by the strategic decision to maintain centralised control over the flow of mission-critical transportation data.

In addition, the web services architecture of the eCargo TMS allows quick and inexpensive interfacing to the many ERP systems used by the various Carter Holt Harvey business units.

The use of the eCargo platform also ensures that interface management is
controlled and administered by an internal company and third party systems do not breach the corporate firewall.

As well as the standard functionality within eCargo 'TMS' the Matrix deployment will use and benefit from the development in 2005 of a sophisticated Rating and Reconciliation engine within eCargo, that will provide the basis for determining cost per tonne kilometre by route and consignment.
