How does it work?
Software as a Service
The eCargo solution is based on the Software as a
Service business model, where the software is hosted by eCargo
and used by customers over the internet. Customers do not
pay to own the software itself, rather they pay for using
it. How much you pay is simply determined by how many users you
require and what electronic interfaces are in place.
This model enables businesses to use it as a low-cost way to
obtain the same benefits of commercially licensed, internally
operated software without the associated complexity and high
initial cost.
Technology
The eCargo software is developed using Delphi to run on the
Microsoft .NET framework. This, in conjunction with a relational
multi-tenanted SQL Server database, means eCargo can easily manage
the load and complexity of freight logistics.
eCargo's current software solutions comprise of a Windows-based
application and a web-based application. The team is currently
focused on migrating all Windows application functionality to a new
enhanced Web front-end. This will provide a complete platform to
deliver new and regular enhancements to customers, reducing
barriers to deployment.
