eCargo Security and Disaster Recovery
Your business and financial data is of very high importance to us, and we maintain a highly secure and reliable service. It’s very important that your data is secured from unauthorised access.
Online Access Security
Access to eCargo is protected via a username and password. Only once you successfully login to eCargo can you access your logistics information. Each business on eCargo has its own secure partition, so there’s no chance that another eCargo customer will be able to see any of your data.
SSL Encryption
All eCargo accounts use SSL (Secure Socket Layer).
eCargo uses SSL to encrypt the information passing between the browser and the server to stop hackers from accessing your data while it travels over the Internet between eCargo and you.
Secure Financial Information
Limit who in your team can see your company’s financial information, such as freight rates and accruals. Allow management team members to see everything and other staff to only see what they require.
Hosting Environment
eCargo is hosted by Intergen, who not only manage purpose built, high availability hosting facilities and many other mission-critical business applications, but also full 24x7 operational monitoring and systems admin services.
Even if you’re not a technical person, you’ll get an idea of how Intergen provides a highly reliable, secure and scalable service. You can find out more information on the application hosting Intergen runs for eCargo here.
People
Intergen is staffed 24 hours a day. The hosting facilities maintain a very high standard of physical security with all access restricted by security card, and regular patrol by security personnel. In the event that an issue arises with the hardware that runs eCargo, eCargo staff can liase with data centre staff on the ground to resolve issues.
Data Storage
The eCargo database is hosted on a Database server attached to a Storage Area Network (SAN). These storage systems accommodate multiple hard disks and are fault-tolerant. In the event of a hard disk failure, the system will keep working with no data loss. The hard disks can be hot-swapped, meaning that a technician can replace a faulty drive without data loss or downtime.
Back-ups and Recovery
Your business and financial data is very important, and we have several mechanisms in place to ensure that should a disaster occur, we can recover quickly with minimal disruption to your eCargo service.
